Eufaula Indian Journal Eufaula Ironheads Football Players of the Year
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Ironheads ended the season with a 2-9 record in their first year in district 3A-3. Although their record does not show it, the Ironheads were in every game with the exception of No. 1 ranked Lincoln Christian. The Ironheads had numerous players that stood beside the Eufaula Indian Journal Eufaula Players of the Year such as Honorable Mention players Luke Hodgins, Dresden Chiles, Aaron Spoehr, Bladyen Neill, Day Day Shine, Michael Smith, Elijah Holley, Braeden Blevins and Simeon Hill.

The future looks bright for Eufaula as Folsom, Lee, Doltyn Lane, Hodgins, Logan Plant, Smith and Ty Sparks and others will return for the 2025 football season.

It is with great pride that we announce the 2024 Eufaula Indian Journal (EIJ) Football Players of the Year.

EIJ Ironhead Most Valuable Player is Peter Lee.

The junior running back ran for 1506 yards on 197 carries with 15 touchdowns averaging 7.64 yards per carry. Lee also finished with 11 receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown. Lee’s consistent effort throughout the season was a major factor in Eufaula offense. His power, speed and elusiveness left defenders in the dust. He was a threat as he would break a big play at any time in the game and he rarely fell with the first contact.

EIJ Offensive Player of the Year is Ledger Folsom.

The Ironhead quarterback finished the season going 69 of 148 attempts for 811 yards passing with four touchdowns and six interceptions. Folsom also had 114 carries for 576 yards and 10 touchdowns. Folsom is a dual threat quarterback who has great toughness and speed.

EIJ Offensive Lineman of the Year is Connor McAllister.

The 6’3”, 275-pound senior anchored the offensive line from his center position. McAllister is a cerebral football player with great vision and character. He led the charge from his position to open up running lanes and give Folsom the protection he needed to make reads. McAllister has the talent to play at the next level.

EIJ Eufaula Defensive Player of the Year is Bryan Lynn.

Lynn is the epitome of Ironhead defensive football. He has vision, power and is extremely tough. Lynn led the team with 153 tackles, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a forced interception. Lynn’s bone jarring tackles took its toll on opposing offenses and dominated his side of the football field.

EIJ Eufaula defensive Lineman of the Year is Carson Luna.

The 6’3”, 280-pound senior finished with 70 tackles, two for a loss, two quarterback sacks and a punt block. Luna has already received two college offers to play at the next level. He has a great work ethic, strength and ability to power through opposing offensive linemen.

EIJ Eufaula Special Teams Player of the Year is Maddox Bridges. Bridges has a special talent for returning punts and kick offs. His speed, agility and vision of the football field were pivotal in giving the Ironheads a short field to work with. Bridges averaged 37 yards per return (un-official) and had 22 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown.
