Tommy ‘T.J.’ Joe Davis

Tommy “T.J.” Joe Davis, 58, of Checotah, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 4, 1966, in Purcell, Oklahoma, the son of Larry Gene Davis and Linda Louise Kittley-Davis.

T.J. graduated from Eufaula High School in 1984. He worked as a Manager for Smith Diesel Repair for 20+ years. He was a member of The General Assembly and Church of the First Born. T.J. enjoyed gardening, cooking and smoking, watching his children and grandchildren play baseball and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren who nicknamed him, “Papa T.”

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Linda Davis of Stidham; two daughters, Ashley Davis of McAlester and Courtney and Joe Garrett of Eufaula; two sons, Daceauda and Susan Davis of Muskogee and Daniel Davis of Checotah; sister, Shay Davis of Checotah; two brothers, Dewayne Smith of Checotah and Skylar Davis of Stidham; six grandchildren, Rylan Purdom, Trinity Cox, Lialah Cox, Payton Garrett, Carson Garrett and Rhett Garrett; nieces and nephews, Adrianna Smith, Bradley Smith, Jr. and Brayden Smith; his devoted companion, Tarena Eaves of Checotah.

Graveside Services for T.J. were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at Davis Acres Family Cemetery, 106835 S. 4167 Rd., Checotah with Bro. David Thompson and Bro. Gary Hawkins officiating. Interment followed.

Pallbearers were Daniel Davis, Daceauda Davis, Joe Garrett, Jarret Haugland, Brayden Smith and Bradley Smith, Jr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, OK 74426.
