Faith and begorrah, it’s St. Patrick’s annual Green Run
By JERRY FINK MANAGING EDITOR

The fourth annual 5K Green Run and 1-mile Fun Run will be held Saturday, March 15, starting at 9 a.m., with check-in at 8 a.m.

There are two major changes in this year’s run – the Lake Eufaula Association is hosting the event and the run will begin at Lake Eufaula Pavilion.

In years past the event had been at Xtreme RV Resort.

LEA Executive Director Rhonda Adams said the Pavilion is easier to access and provides more cover for participants.

As of Monday, 156 had signed up.

“We expect about 200,” Adams said.

As in the past, everyone is encouraged to come in St. Patrick’s Day-themed costumes and if you have a dog that likes to run bring him or her along. There will be contests for best dressed pets and best costumes.

All costume contest entries must be submitted by 9 a.m. on race day via Facebook Messenger.

The Costume Contest and Pet Costume Contest are sponsored by Lake Dog and Their People.

Enjoy shopping and delicious treats from Down Low Eatz and A Little Country Charm, plus wellness tips from Bee Well Family Heath Care, Ignite Health and Wellness and Lake Country Fitness.

At the site there will be food trucks, local vendors and a DJ.

There also will be a 50/50 raffle.

This is a USATF sanctioned race and will be timed.

For more information call Rhonda at 918-6897751 or Kelly at 918470-7527.
