Deadly night in Muskogee County ends with four shot, two dead

Saturday, March 8, was a deadly night in Muskogee County with two people dead in two separate shootings.

At 5:54 p.m. Muskogee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a reported shooting at Five Star Recycling in Oktaha.

According to the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office report: “Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and immediately administered medical aid. Muskogee County EMS arrived on scene; however, life-saving measures were ceased, and the victim was pronounced deceased.

A second female victim also sustained a gunshot wound and was treated by EMS and released.

The suspect fled the scene.”

At 6:09 p.m. Muskogee Police Department responded to a second shooting near 24th Street West and Topeka Avenue. When officers arrived they found the victim, Rolando Donta McConnell, lying in the street with gunshot wounds. McConnell was taken to a Muskogee hospital where he later died.

Thankfully witnesses were able to describe the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.

Later the vehicle was spotted by officers who attempted a traffic stop. However, instead of stopping, the suspect fired shots at the officers and led several law enforcement agencies on a high –speed pursuit that ended near 5th Street and Martin Luther King Street. The suspect was shot, treated on scene and taken to a nearby hospital. No officers were injured.

The suspect, who was previously identified as 26-year-old Aaron Bogar, was later identified as Aaron O’Neal Wilson.

Muskogee PD identified two of its officers involved in the shooting as Sergeant Bryan Wilkins and Officer Darien Allen, who are now on routine paid administrative leave pending the investigation.

Muscogee (Creek) Nation also confirmed at least two Lighthorse Police officers were involved in the shooting as well but details on their leave status have not been released.
