Madewell sparks Checotah Lady Wildcats to big win over Lady Warriors
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

Aurora Madewell was incredible at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 as the Checotah Lady Wildcats powered past the Lady Warriors 11-3 on Thursday.

Madewell delivered clutch hits throughout the game, singling in the second, fourth, and fifth innings to help fuel Checotah’s offensive outburst.

The turning point came in the bottom of the fourth when the Lady Wildcats exploded for seven runs. Makyah Black got things rolling with a two-run double, followed by an RBI double from Sydni West. Kami Hamm’s bases-loaded walk pushed another run across, and Shyanne Madewell capped the rally with a huge three-run double that blew the game wide open.

Checotah got on the board early in the second inning. After an error opened the door, Aurora Madewell singled to right and Tylie Moody followed with a base hit to left, each plating a run.

Makyah Black picked up the win in the circle, going five strong innings. She allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned), striking out one and walking four. Her steady presence kept the Lady Warriors from mounting a comeback.

The loss went to the Lady Warriors’ starter who surrendered 11 runs (eight earned) on nine hits over 4.1 innings, with one strikeout and five walks.

Shyanne Madewell led the team with three RBIs, while Tylie Moody added a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate. Hailey Prince showed great discipline at the plate, drawing two walks as the Lady Wildcats showed strong patience overall, collecting five free passes.

It was a complete team effort by Checotah, with timely hitting, smart baserunning, and a dominant fourth inning that proved too much for the Lady Warriors to overcome.

Checotah tops Lady Eagles 7-2 The Checotah Lady Wildcats scored in the top of the third thanks to three doubles. Checotah first got on the board when Shyanne Madewell doubled, scoring one run.

Pitcher Makyah Black gave up five hits and two runs over six and twothirds innings, striking out none and walking four. S Crow started in the circle for the Lady Eagles. The pitcher gave up 10 hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.

Checotah accumulated 10 hits in the game. Shaelynn Casey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Checotah with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Shaelynn Casey and Layna Vandiver each collected two hits for Checotah.
