CHECOTAH ORPHANAGE IS FIRED BY LIGHTNING
The fact that the children in the I.O.O.F. orphanage here were at school prevented possible fatalities this morning from a lightning strike which razed the tower of the main building, which is used to house the little ones.
The children had left only a few minutes before the thunderstorm rolled up. It is estimated that $1,000 damage was done by the bolt, which set fire to the building. The fire department had the blaze soon extinguished.
