The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the drowning of a 20-year-old Oklahoma City man in the Gentry Creek area of Lake Eufaula at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 25.
The body of Jared Porfirio Guerrero Enriquez was recovered by a dive team for the OHP Marine Enforcement Division shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26.
Divers located the victim about 11 feet below the surface of the lake 3.5 miles south of Council Hill and 10 miles west of Checotah.
Enriquez was one of three passengers on a 1977 Venture Boat operated by Jimmie Dean Dishman, 30, of Council Hill.
Other passengers included Blake Dean Igert, 31, and a male juvenile, both of Council Hill.
Enriquez was not wearing a life preserver when he allegedly jumped from the boat, struggled and then went under, failing to return to the surface, according to investigators.
