The Checotah Band Spring Concert is May 8 and will be a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. in the HS Cafeteria and then the concert begins at 6 p.m. in the PAC.
The bands have had awards all year long and added more just recently.
The Class of Checotah received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award from OSSAA for their grade point average in the fall. This is the 4th year in a row they have received this prestigious award.
The high school jazz band, under the direction of Alex Warrior, also received a Superior Rating at 4A State Jazz Contest Tuesday, April 29.
Checotah Level 2 and Level 3 Bands received Superior Ratings at the Eufaula Contest this last week. Then they competed at Frontier City this past week.
