Ironheads extend three-game win streak with 5-2 win over Roland
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Ironheads (6-12) used timely hitting and aggressive base running to secure a 5-2 victory over Roland on Thursday.

Eufaula broke through in the top of the third inning, turning a tight game into one they wouldn’t relinquish. Jax Williams delivered the big swing with a tworun double, and another run crossed the plate later in the inning to give the Ironheads a cushion they would not surrender.

Beau Tarron set the tone on the mound, grinding through five and two-thirds innings to earn the win. The right-hander allowed seven hits and two runs while working around five walks. He kept Roland from stringing together big innings and gave his team a chance to stay in control.

Williams returned to the spotlight in relief, shutting the door with one and one-third scoreless innings. He allowed no hits, struck out one and walked one to seal the victory.

Offensively, Williams led the charge from the heart of the lineup, driving in two runs. He, along with Kase Steele and Koltyn Lane, accounted for Eufaula’s three hits on the day. The Ironheads made those hits count, pairing them with patience at the plate and aggressive base running.

Eufaula kept Roland on its heels with four stolen bases, including two from Tarron, and added a key defensive highlight with a double play.

Roland was led by Laken Honeycutt, who went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Austin Benham and Hunter Burris each recorded an RBI. Burris also went the distance on the mound, allowing five runs, three earned, over seven innings in the loss.

Williams erupts for four hits as Ironheads power past Idabel When Jax Williams stepped to the plate Monday, something special was brewing — and by the end of the night, the Eufaula Ironheads rode his red-hot bat to a commanding 9-4 victory over Idabel.

Williams was unstoppable, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and two singles, sparking an Ironheads offense that never let up. From his first-inning single to his sixth-inning double, Williams set the tone and kept the pressure squarely on Idabel all game long.

Eufaula wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the opening inning, Fischer McAllister ripped a single that plated two runs, giving the Ironheads an early jolt of momentum. They kept the bats rolling in the second.

Kace Bell and Williams delivered backto- back RBI doubles, stretching the lead and putting Idabel on its heels early as Eufaula built a cushion it would never surrender.

On the mound, Bell battled through 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, striking out five while working around traffic. When Idabel threatened, Beau Tarron came in and slammed the door, tossing 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief with two strikeouts to preserve the lead.

Offensively, the Ironheads were firing on all cylinders.

Eufaula racked up nine hits, with McAllister delivering a monster performance in the heart of the order. The cleanup hitter went a perfect 3-for-3 and drove in five runs, repeatedly coming through in clutch situations.

Bell added two hits of his own, while Chase Bumgarner wreaked havoc on the base paths, swiping two bases as part of a five-steal night for the Ironheads.

McAllister dominates on the mound Fischer McAllister delivered a performance to remember Tuesday, overpowering Idabel with 13 strikeouts and leading the Eufaula Ironheads to a commanding 11-2 victory.

McAllister was nearly untouchable on the hill, allowing just one hit across seven strong innings while giving up two runs and walking only two. He didn’t just shine as a pitcher—he was just as dangerous at the plate. McAllister went 3-for-4, blasting doubles in the third and sixth innings and adding a single in the fourth to cap off an all-around standout performance.

The Ironheads broke things open in the third inning with an offensive surge that put the game firmly in their control. Jax Williams sparked the rally with an RBI single, followed by McAllister’s run-scoring double. Chase Bumgarner added another RBI single, and Yardeka Fields delivered the big blow with a two-run double to stretch the lead.

Eufaula’s offense stayed aggressive throughout, racking up 12 hits on the day. Fields, batting out of the seven spot, drove in two runs, while Koltyn Lane and Bumgarner each turned in multi-hit performances. The Ironheads also showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks and consistently applying pressure.

On the bases, Eufaula was just as relentless. The Ironheads swiped seven bases, with Beau Tarron leading the charge with two steals, keeping Idabel’s defense on edge all game long.
